Introduction
In this world, something or the other is always happening. sometimes accidents take place. the objects like stones that are there are not capable of feeling or doing anything. The birds or beasts get scared and run away from the scene. should a man not react in a different and better manner if he happens to be present there? In this lesson, SUNIT and PUNIT rightly point out that man should not a mere onlooker or a passive witness. like a good Samaritan, he should do whatever he can to rescue and help out the victims. Generally, most of the people hesitate to help a road crash victim because of fear of police harassment and legal hassles. Even then we as human beings should carry out the threefold be sensitive and sensible human beings especially when our fellow human beings are afflicted by an accident.
( PUNIT and SUNIT are talking with one another on the subject of who are the witnesses of an accident taking place in the street and what they do. )

PUNIT:- O brother! sometimes accidents also take place on the way. there mostly three (types of) witnesses - inanimate things like stones, beasts like cows, and human beings. Do you know how all these three acts differently ( lit. - different things)?
SUNIT:- I don't know. please tell first what do the stones, etc. do?
PUNIT:- But the objects like stones are inanimate. They are not able to do anything by themselves. So they stay as they are.
SUNIT:- What do beasts and birds who are living beings do?
PUNIT:- All these experiences fear due to noise arisen by the accident. So they run away from the place of the accident.

SUNIT:- What you say is true. but beasts like cows are dull. but if any man who has intelligence runs away from the place of accident, then he is surely a beast only.
PUNIT:- Actually if a man behaves like a man, he performs three types of work.
SUNIT:- What are those three types of work?
PUNIT:- The first work is experiencing sorrow. Man alone is able to be sad by sorrow (of others) and happy by happiness (of the other person). so having seen the afflicted and sad as a result of an accident, a man should feel sorry. Indeed one who does not experience sorrow in spite of watching such a soul is not at all a man but he is surely a stone because indeed a stone never feels the unhappiness of the other.
SUNIT:- You have said the right thing, even I have often experienced sorrow on seeing an unknown person afflicted by the accident. what is the second work?
PUNIT:- The second work, of course, is performing the duty. A person afflicted by the accident should be immediately hospitalized (or taken to a dispensary ) so that the right treatment might be given to him there, sometimes if there is the necessity of blood to him, one's blood should be given to him. intimation should be given to his family so that his relatives will be of special help comping to the hospital. the duty of a man who witnesses an accident is like this. this duty should be performed by all men.
